Tara is a female peace manifestation of enlightening wisdom in Buddhism. there are 21 different shapes that are all called Tara and can be seen in all colors of the rainbow, such as the Green Tara and the White Tara, respectively the deities of motherhood and action. in these two favorite forms she sits on a throne of a lotus and the moon and when she sticks out one leg it means that she is ready to act.
Tara literally means the savior. in Buddhism, Tara is a radiance of the bodhisattva Avalokiteshvara. it arose from tears of Avalokiteshvara, which flowed from compassion with all living and feeling beings. Tara is therefore, above all, the essence (deity) of compassion. she is the mother of the Tibetan people and is known as a devout queen or consort. call on her or grab her mandala and she will fly to help.
